The Man, The Myth, The Legend.

Allen Iverson,
The Answer.

Sport of Basketball has seen so many legends throughout the history. Russell, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan… But no one influenced the generations the way that Allen Iverson did. Basketball fans from the whole world not only wanted to play like him, but they wanted to look like him. The man was the true definition of unique.

“I didn't want to be Michael or Magic. I wanted to be Allen Iverson.”
- LeBron James

Braids, tattoos, chains, clothes, arm sleeves, headbands, shoes… He was obviously not the first sports figure to have tattoos, braids or wear a headband, but he was the one that made it undeniably cool. Though looking cool was a start, it wasn’t gonna influence the people by itself. It was his play on the court that made it a whole package.

(Garrett Elwood)

“U the reason why I got tattoos, wore a headband and arm sleeve. Thanks for everything!!”
- LeBron James

Pound for pound, Iverson was the greatest basketball player ever. No one could’ve imagined a 6 foot, 165 pound player to dominate a game, yet alone win an MVP. He was short in stature, but big in heart. Iverson was one of the best fierce competitors the game has ever seen.

“We're all fortunate that Allen Iverson isn’t 6 foot 5, otherwise it would have been over for the league. Pack up and goodbye.”
- Kobe Bryant

Iverson led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals in 2001 with winning the Eastern Conference Championship, the same year that he won the MVP. They faced the Los Angeles Lakers led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. The Lakers won the NBA Finals with winning 15 out of their 16 games in that playoffs. Who was the one that won a game againts the Lakers in the playoffs? You know “The Answer”.

“I obsessively read every article and book I could find about AI. I obsessively watched every game he had played, going back to the IUPU All-American Game. I obsessively studied his every success, and his every struggle. I obsessively searched for any weakness I could find.”
- Kobe Bryant

Allen Iverson inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on September 9, 2016. Here are some of his accolades.
